I religiously checked the Weather Channel in the days leading up to Marcia and Ken’s wedding. It was supposed to rain and pretty hard for that matter. The Tuesday before the wedding, Grayson and I took a quick road trip to visit Hollins House and I have to say I was fairly nervous navigating Highway 17 in the downpour. That’s how bad the weather was looking. Well, fast forward to March 6th and the day was amazingly GORGEOUS. Not only was there no rain, but the sun was shining! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how lucky these two were. Marcia and Ken hosted a wonderfully relaxed celebration. That is probably the best way I can explain the feel of their wedding day – Relaxed. There was no buffet line or seated meal….guests ate at their leisure stopping at different food stations to fill up their plates. They then gathered outdoors to lounge in the sun, all the while enjoying the beautiful view of the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Pacific Ocean. It really was perfect day for Marcia & Ken.

This next shot is so cool. I love the excited expression on Marcia’s face as she is about to see Ken for the first time on their Wedding Day. And of course I love Ken’s tiny reflection in the door.

True emotion….this is so hard to draw out of people. Marcia is just beaming.

This next series of photos with Ken, his son Kelley, and Marcia is a treat. I was shooting very standard portraits, but when kids are involved I can’t help but draw out some silly expressions.

Blue skies and sunny day…..simply perfection.

I don’t remember what Ken’s Best Man and Brother is saying, but I love the laughter.

The Hollins House has such a noble, yet airy feel to it. Light colored walls, french doors and large windows let in so much light. It made for some beautiful first dance photographs.

Precious.

A quiet moment during the reception.

Can’t forget the rings!

Outside looking in…and boy does it look fun in there!

Kelley wasn’t the only young one at the wedding….he had a ton of cousins and friends. I just love the different expressions all these children give me.

One last sweet moment.

Congratulations Marcia & Ken!
